TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia - three cities that seem to be completely different - through their location and size to their history. Yet after a closer look one will notice that they comprise a united organism where history interpenetrates modernity, business interconnects with culture and education, urban spaces complement nature. Beautiful, sandy and bright beaches attract tourist all year round. In summer you'll relax in the sunlight, while during spring, autumn and winter long walks along the coastline will offer you with some healthy dosage of iodine.

NEPTUNE'S FOUNTAIN IN GDAŃSK

It's the most characteristic tourist attraction in Gdańsk and a must-see in the city. Neptune - the god of seas and oceans - symbolises Gdańsk's connection to the sea. According to some legends, it was Neptune himself to be responsible for creating the famous liqueur Goldwasser

 

THE CRANE

One of the most characteristic monuments in Gdańsk used to be the biggest wharf crane in medieval Europe and a fortess. Currently it is the seat of National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk. The crane's silhouette is the most often presented monument on postcards from Gdańsk.

EUROPEAN SOLIDARITY CENTRE IN GDAŃSK

An impressive edifice that resembles a hull is an important institution on the Gdańsk liberty trail. ESC is a place where you can learn the history of Solidarność and the anticommunist opposition in Poland and Europe. It is also a place of dialogue about the modern world's problems.

 

THE MUSEUM OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR IN GDAŃSK

A museum with one of the world's biggest expositions provides its visitors with  complete information of the greatest war in the human history. The monumental display with thousands of objects not only teaches facts about military activities but also gives us an insight to civilians' everyday life. Visiting the Museum in Gdańsk is a moving and unforgettable experience.

SHAKESPEARE THEATER IN GDAŃSK

Dramatic theater built in Elizabethan style. The most characteristic part of the building is its retractable roof which allows play performances in daylight. The institution organizes exceptional events such as Kino na Szekspirowskim during which all the films are displayed on the Theatre's roof.

 

GRANARY AND OŁOWIANKA ISLANDS IN GDAŃSK

Islands in the City Center - once granaries - now totally rebuilt and modernized, play a completely different role today. Granary Island welcomes tourist with its hotel and restaurant complex overlooking Mołtawa. On Ołowianka you will be able to visit Baltic Philharmonics, enjoy the city's panorama from Amber Sky observation wheel and take a selfie by the enourmous Gdańsk sign.

SOPOT PIER

Sopot Pier is the longest wooden construction of the kind in Europe. Perfect for long walks at any time of the year. Apart from wonderful views, its visitors will benefit from the high concentration of iodine which is twice as strong as on the land. And of course, it is a perfect selfie point!

 

EMIGRATION MUSEUM IN GDYNIA

The only place in Poland where you can learn the history of Polish emmigration to all the continents in the span of hundreds of years. Its location was not chosen by accident: in this historical building of Harbour Station took their first emmigrational state in the interwar period.

GIFT OF POMERANIA

A museum ship moored by the quay in Gdynia. Although it is no longer used on the sea, the Gift of Pomerania will give you the real marinistic experience. The legend of Polish sailing is over 100 years old and it went round the world several times and voyaged  more than half a milion miles in total.

 

MUSICAL THEATRE OF DANUTA BADUSZKOWA IN GDYNIA

The biggest musical theatre in Poland with three auditoriums that host more than 1580 guestes. The theatre is visited every year by one hundred thousand music lovers. Apart from hundreds of shows and operas, the Musical Theatres hosts such cultural events as Polish Film Festival and Ladies' Jazz Festival.
